HTC Desire 510-1

Manufacturers not only eat high-end: the midrange and low end are still there, and have much potential in reality, we just have to see successes and harvesting Motorola and bq month after month. HTC does not want to give up that piece of the pie, and so have bet on the low end with a device that came to give the design lines of the Taiwanese even the most discreet pockets.

Yes, I’m talking about the HTC Desire 510 : In The Android Libre we could try it for a while , and here we tell all our impressions and our analysis of the device. And, being a device that is after the line of Desire 610 and 816 of Desire my partner Manuel Block already described at the time, I’ll do the analysis on the same basis. We started!

HTC Desire 510-11

We are talking about an economic terminal, so we can not ask too much in the technical specifications , and considering the price that we can find (and declare it advance first: we can find to 217 € on sites like Amazon). We as strengths fluidity of the system and the final finish, aspects that struck me quite for good, while others like the screen are much weaker than they might actually be.

The technical specifications are as follows, to be exact:

  • Screen 4.7 “FWVGA (854 × 480 pixels)
  • 410 Snapdragon 1.2GHz QuadCore to
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 2100mAh
  • 5MP rear camera
  • VGA Front Camera
  • Android 4.4 KitKat (Blinkfeed)
  • 8GB storage expandable via microSD card
  • 139.9 x 69.8 x 9.99 mm
  • LTE Cat 4

However, the HTC Desire 510 is not focused on the battle to get have the most muscle, which will see along the whole analysis.

HTC Desire 510-2

In this section, I have to talk a little bit like my companion is a terminal made of plastic completely , leaving aside the glass edges have and in which the great black stripe with the logo of HTC (do not speak have wanted to improve much in that regard, which is a shame) On the front we find an internal speaker, a microphone, a camera and two sensors, while in the rear we find the HTC screen printing a color lighter, camera and the only speaker set.

We’ll have to go to the right side to find the volume buttons, up we lock button with a 3.5mm jack, and at the bottom we find the microUSB connector. The truth is that I am not convinced the top position lock button, since it is easier to activate the screen while we put it in your pocket (for example), but depends on the tastes of each. Finally, we will have to remove the skin that covers the back to access the removable battery, microSD card slot and microSIM card slot

HTC Desire 510-3

Concerning the design and finishing in general, the truth is that surprised me : for I have kept the fine line between cheap materials (plastic) and a finish that looks solid , though not finish like the back too have a gummy point. With its 4.7 inch is quite comfortable to hold with one hand, and have no problem clicking anywhere on the screen.

HTC Desire 510-7

The screen has disappointed me, let’s be honest: it is the weakest of the set point is less than 720p when competition is already established in that segment displays. If we are accustomed to higher resolutions, let’s notice or yes. The size of 4.7 inches is quite comfortable to use, but we will see a little small when you consider using the navigation bar.

Regarding colors and saturation, we find a balanced screen, much in the line of HTC, butthe very low resolution and poor pixel density of the set (they are 854 × 480 pixels, to be exact)  drives down many points , something that is a real shame.

HTC Desire 510-13

Before I explain why I found this section that has given me surprises, I commented: we have a device that brings Android 4.4.3 KitKat factory, to which is added HTC Sense 6.0 with BlinkFeed. Besides customization layer that completely covers KitKat, we can find a few extra applications, plus details as 50GB of storage in Google Drive for two years.

Returning to my experiences with the device, I have to say that quite surprised me the Desire 510: Sense does not slow down the phone, the experience that takes one device is quite correct and satisfactory. In this case the performance is quite comparable to Android AOSP without additives, a real credit to the optimization that HTC has done with this device.
