IFTTT hits Android

Posted In NEWS - By DailyNews on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 With No Comments »

IFTTT, the popular web app that can automate things in your  life, is hitting Android today. If you’re unfamiliar with IFTTT, it allows you to create recipes that are actually commands for different services to perform different actions. For example, you can have all of your Instagram pictures automatically upload to Flickr or automatically sync your files between Dropbox and Google Drive. IFTTT can even send notifications to your phone through services like Pushbullet, allowing you to get alerts for things such as tomorrow’s weather forecast sent to your phone each night.

The Android app includes all sorts of fun things, like control over notifications, SMS, device settings, location and more. You can set up all sorts of recipes, just like Tasker can, allowing you to do things like turn off all sound when you get to work, back up your SMS messages to a cloud service or automatically back up photos and share them on Facebook. Plenty of actions are available with IFTTT, and the best part is that if you come up with a cool recipe, you can easily share it with the rest of us. So get out there and get cooking!

The app isn’t live for everyone yet, but it should show up by the end of the day.
