Nothing has started pushing stable Android 17 to its phones, beginning with the flagship Phone (3).
Nothing’s own Community post says the general release is rolling out to Phone (3) users now, following an Open Beta phase on devices like the Phone (4a) and Phone (3a) series.
For everyone else, the question is simply when your stable turn comes.
When Your Nothing Phone Gets It
9to5Google compiled Nothing’s schedule, which spreads stable rollouts through mid-January 2027:
- October 12: Phone (3)
- Early November: Phone (4a) Pro, Phone (4a), Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (3a)
- Mid November: Phone (2a), Phone (2a) Plus
- Late December: Phone (3a) Lite
- Mid January: Phone (4b), CMF Phone 2 Pro
Nothing says the update is “set to expand to other devices in the coming months.”
What Finally Lands in Stable
As Android Authority notes, the stable release packs several visual and functional upgrades:
- Interface & Design: Redesigned launcher, frosted-glass translucent theme, Geist typeface, and new lock-screen clocks like Micrographics.
- Navigation Controls: Split Quick Settings and notification panels, one-tap Bluetooth connectivity, and bulk home-screen icon movement.
- Widgets & Dedicated Apps: Built-in Collector and Away Time widgets, alongside a standalone Glyph control app.
- Camera Upgrades: Dual-view Video, H.265 recording format, dedicated video filters, and improved zoom capabilities.
- System & AI Refinements: Faster Essential Voice transcriptions, Noto 3D Emoji, expanded Dark Theme, and clearer privacy indicators.
Check Your Storage First
Android Authority reports download sizes of about 2.84GB for non-beta users and roughly 1.68GB for beta testers.
Those figures come from rollout screenshots on social media rather than from Nothing, so treat them as estimates. Either way, make sure you have enough free space and charge the phone before you tap download.
To check, open Settings, then System, then System update. The rollout is gradual and varies by region, so not everyone with a Phone (3) will see it today.
